Hello, lovely people! My name is Tanisha Kepe, and I am the Lead Planner and Owner of Ebony x Ivory Events. I was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, before moving to Toronto. I listen to a lot of Beyoncé, watch lots of movies, and I’m a major Raptors fan. You’ll often find me wearing a power suit, and you’ll definitely always see me rocking big dramatic earrings, which I may or may not intentionally match to your wedding colours.
I began my journey by volunteering my hospitality skills at various types of events held at my church of up to approximately fifteen hundred people. Following my college Hospitality Management program, I spent some time as an Assistant Event Coordinator for an outdoor, tented venue, and later as a Bridal Consultant, downtown Toronto. My time as a consultant has frequently come in handy in my current work. For example, when a bride can’t figure out their bustle or their dress suddenly pops minutes before their speech, I’m able to come to the rescue. I’ve learned to never come to a wedding without heavy duty safety pins, and a mini sewing kit! In addition, I’ve been fortunate enough to learn the ropes of the industry, working under some of the best planners in the city!
One day, I realized that my love for organization and my love for love could translate into becoming a wedding planner, and since then, I have not looked back! Watching my clients walk into the room they’ve dreamed about, finally seeing it as a reality, will never stop being my favourite feeling. My goal is always to ensure you get to dance the night away, and that you get to that point without thinking about what comes next on the schedule. Don’t worry about who’s giving the next speech - leave it to me!
Whether I’m helping you re-sew a button on your suit, fluff out your train, usher your guests to the reception, or lighting hundreds of candles - you name it, I’m your girl!
